The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has taken a revolutionary step in the digital transformation of the public sector by developing a digital twin. This innovative technology uses data to predict and improve results in key sectors such as the economy, tourism, healthcare and forest fire prevention. In collaboration with AWS and Esri, this project has been implemented on the American company's cloud. One of the most notable applications of this digital twin has been the search for the best locations to install solar panels in a high-tech business center in Talavera de la Reina. Thanks to data analysis, it has been possible to optimize the placement of these panels, thus maximizing their energy efficiency.
In addition, this digital twin also makes it possible to visualize the Buy Phone Number List movements of tourists around the region and predict forest fires. The region is already working on exploring new applications for this technology. “We are the first regional government in Spain to harness the power of this technology to improve services to residents and the effectiveness of our policies,” declared Juan Ángel Morejudo Flores, deputy minister of Digital Transformation of the regional government. The use of AWS has made it possible to reduce the environmental impact of technological projects in the region and promote the development of native cloud solutions. Thanks to microservices and containers, data is collected and processed to create a digital twin of the region, thus facilitating informed decision making.
This initiative fits with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Digital Spain 2026 Strategy. Its promoters seek to promote a disruptive change that is inclusive and sustainable. Frequent questions What is a digital twin?
